One of my former editors used to make fun of us Central Coast Californians for making a big deal out of minor weather events.
If it rains, we publish a picture. Frost, take a picture. Snow, freak out, then take a picture.
I like to think we are more in tune with the rhythms of nature but after observing fellow Californians drive fast in snow and ice I suspect there is another dynamic at work.
